We’re retained on an exclusive Sales Director role with a payments company trusted by some of the largest football clubs and sporting venues in the UK. Now looking to expand their offering into wider hospitality and high footfall retail.

About the role

  • Key member of the senior leadership team, reporting directly to the MD

  • Combines hands-on new business generation with the responsibility to grow and lead a sales function

  • Own the end-to-end sales cycle from lead generation to contract closure

  • Drive high-value strategic relationships with merchants, CFOs and IT leaders in hospitality, events, and retail

  • Lead tender processes and negotiate major contracts

  • Shape commercial strategy and deliver on ambitious growth targets

  • Represent the business at industry events and client sites across the UK

  • Build out a sales team beneath you, developing talent and creating a winning culture

About you

  • Senior B2B sales leadership experience in payments selling directly to merchants, ideally into stadia, hospitality, events, or retail/QSR

  • Proven track record of winning and growing enterprise-level clients with some experience of managing a small sales team

  • Strong negotiator with the ability to close complex deals

  • Commercially strategic, but equally comfortable rolling up your sleeves to deliver results

  • Confident presenting value propositions to senior stakeholders (CFO, FD, IT)

  • Willingness to travel frequently and attend client events, including some weekends
